New Year, New Calendar

I'm not gonna lie, one of the most exciting parts of a new year, for me, is getting a new desk calendar. Last year my sister got me a Shoe Gallery Calendar.

Awesome, right? Kinda. I'm going to go ahead and tell you this isn't as awesome as it looks. I was thinking, "SCORE! A shoe a day for 365 days!" Not so much, there is only one shoe for Saturday and Sunday. Yeah, they share a shoe! WTF?Also, not all the shoes are a lovely as the one shown here. Some time soon, when my office is empty I will scan in some shoes for you. Some were so bad I'd reuse an old day. Jen (my sister) and I were so disappointed with this calendar we decided not to get another one for 2010.

Instead my mom got me Fix-It and Forget-It, Feasting with Your Slow Cooker.

My mom gave Hubs and I a slow cooker for our engagement party and since we've moved in together I haven't used it once. She knew I was looking for Slow Cooker recipes, so she got me this calendar. Great idea, I just feel weird keeping on my desk at work, since I don't do any cooking there.

Enter Brooke at Claremont Road (aka Mrs Cupcake).

She blogged back in December about her 2010 calendar search. She was having trouble narrowing down her favorites and mentioned the one she kept coming back to, to her mom. Well, her Mother bought her this calendar from Night Owl Paper Goods for Christmas.

Isn't it lovely? I was pretty sure this was the calendar I needed for my desk at work... then I saw something shiny and totally forgot to follow the link on her site and order one.

Well, it turned out for the best because Night Owl is now offering 10% off all calendar orders placed before January 15. All you have to do is simply enter the coupon code "claremontroad" at checkout to receive the discount.

Well, I did and look what I'll be receiving in the mail soon...

The 2010 Critter Calendar! How freakin' cute is that?

And the BEST PART (from Night Owl's website) the calendar is...
Eco-friendly sustainably harvested yellow birch wood
Wood is sliced thin from a small amount of raw material & uses no water & very little power. Wood grain varies from month to month.
I can't wait to put this out and stare at it every day, thank you Claremont Road and Night Owl Paper Goods!
