2010 Recapped

I was MIA around the holidays. I kinda stopped posting all the Reverb10 prompts, only doing the ones that really spoke to me and wouldn't repeat something I’d already talked about. I haven’t posted the gluten free dessert I made for Christmas Eve yet… etc. I’ve decided to do a recap post for 2010 a little later than most. Let’s be honest though, it’s only the 3th, so I’m not that behind.

I really liked the way KJPugs did her 2010 review, so I’ve decided to copy her. Don’t worry, I asked… although, I didn’t really wait for her to respond and say it’s cool. Anyway, here we go…

January we upgraded our TV stand and general appearance of our  living room.  BA

February
I discovered two of my favorite “go to” recipes: Dark Chocolate Red Wine Cupcakes with Mascarpone Icing & Enchilada Casserole.feb
March Hubs and I went to Vegas for meet-up with the Bees and celebrate my bestie from college’s 30th Birthday. Of course, a trip to Vegas would not be complete without eating at Battista's Hole in the Wall.

April Joy from How Joyful redesigned my blog and created those adorable little birdies.

May I started making recipe cards for my recipe posts. The first two I made were for the salad I recreated from a local French restaurant & Margarita Cupcakes.

June I made several desserts using fruit from our local CSA, my favorite was the fruit pizza I invented with the help of Amy from Dandelion Paperweight.

July I turned 30 and made a kick-ass flag cake!

August Hubs and I celebrated our one year Anniversary and played travel roulette with some friends and ended up in Austin, TX.

September was a pretty busy month: I hosted a Giveaway from one of my favorite artists, I discovered  my local food truck meet-up and I took an allergy test and discovered I cannot eat gluten,

October I did my first guest post and rattled on about the wonder that is Jazzercise.

November I blogged every single day… errr, posted every single day. Let’s be honest sometime we blog more than once a day but schedule those posts out. I also discovered Chipotle,

tried Gluten Free Bisquick,

hosted a beautiful necklace giveaway from Honey My Heart

and finally finished my wedding recaps.

And lastly, in December, I attempted Reverb10, made Potato Latkes and guest posted for Forty Twenty Four about my on-the-cheap/modern Christmas table setting.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope I have even more to recap for you at the end of 2011 :)

NaBloPoMo Phew!

TGI – Novemeber 30th! Quite honestly, I never thought I’d make it! Right now, I’m in the middle of finals and I’ve been spending most my free time working on notebooks and boards from my classes. It difficult, when I sit down to the computer, to justify squeezing in a little blogging time, when I really should be squeezing in a little more homework time. Boo homework! For example, this board :-P
boards
I’d like to say I’ll keep this up through December, but I know that won’t happen. I will, however, be posting as often as I can. Hopefully, those posts will include more gluten free recipes and product reviews. Perhaps I’ll tell the story of how I came up with my design company name.

Anywhoodle, thank you for sticking with me :)

To NaBloPoMo, or not to NaBloPoMo...

...THAT is the question!

Last year I participated in NaBloPoMo AND I managed to post everyday in the month of November... and continued for most (in not all) of December I believe (I'm to lazy to check my archives).

So, the question is - do I think I can commit to do it again this year. I'd like to say, "YES!" But I tend to over-commit to things. I think it would be good for blog traffic to post more. I think it would be good for my creativity to post more. But, at this time, would it be good for my sanity? I have class 3 nights a week and finals coming up.

Why not give it a try, right? Hmmmmm...

NaBloPoMo: Can I?

I don't want to jinx this but since I started with the whole NaBloPoMo business I haven't missed a day! Plus, I don't know if you've noticed but so far this month I haven't missed a day. I haven't wanted to say anything, just in case I failed the closer it got to Christmas, but I thought maybe if I told all of you I was going to try to keep this going, I would actually keep it going.

Thank you to Lisa at Written Bliss for encouraging me last week when I had jury duty and I final one day and didn't think I'd have time to blog.

I'd like to think I could continue this for a year... maybe it will be my New Years Resolution.

Do you think you could blog everyday for a year?

NaBloPoMo

Today is one of those days I wished I hadn't promised myself I'd complete this NaBloPoMo stuff.

Confession: I don't blog on the weekends. All my weekend posts are written during the week and scheduled.

Well, since this weekend is 4 days long I don't have Thursday and Friday to blog for Saturday and Sunday. I have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to blog for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday! You're probably thinking with all those extra weekend days I should surely have time to blog, but I don't want to plan on that and then not have time and miss a day. Yeah, I know, I'm crazytown :-/

Anyway, so I have writer's block or writer's unmotivation this week so you get this lame post... sorry.

Where do you get your writing inspiration?

NaBloPoMo

Have you heard about this NaBloPoMo business? I had no clue what it was until this morning. I rarely blog or go on Twitter on the weekends, but I hopped on Twitter yesterday briefly and noticed the trend topic for NaBloPoMo and thought, "What the HACK is that?" but never checked it out until today.

I realize I'm a day late in the game but I'm up for a blogging challenge so - I'm in! I'll even post twice today to make up for yesterday... oooor I'll extend 'til December 2nd. What to do? What to do?
