Around our Nest - The Ghetto Improves

Remember about a month ago when we got our flat screen TV but didn't have a suitable TV stand so the whole area looked really ghetto.

Then we got 2 Nintendo gaming systems and it got worst, with a bajillion cords everywhere.

GOD, that is embarrassing!

For about a month, off and on, we've been surfing the interwebs looking for a TV stand and this weekend the Hubs had the brilliant idea to actually get off our duffs and see one in person. Novel idea, no? The first place we went had exactly what we were looking for and the price couldn't be beat... so we bought it. Easiest furniture shopping experience EVER!

I borrow a company truck and picked it up on my way home from work last night. Behold and nicer, TIDIER TV area!

Of course, because one's home is always a work on process, and one purchase always equals four more, we now need new speakers. But, I can't tell you how much nicer our whole apartment looks now. So.Much.Nicer!

P.S. Yes, that is a VCR, and yes it is bigger than our DVD player... how else are we supposed to watch old episodes of The Prisoner?

Pretty! Did you get it at Target? We have bedside tables that match that almost exactly :)

@Holly P - It's very similar to one at Target (I know those side tables) but actually got it at a small independent furniture place near by. We had our eye on the Target one, but this one was on sale for cheaper (YAY!) and we didn't have to pay shipping (double YAY!).

yay! it looks great! our first entertainment "corral" was much like that - but it was from ikea and came with wheels (that i never put onto it).

Looks great! Where did you get it?

@Susan - We kept seeing ones we liked with wheels online but didn't want the wheels. I don't know why it never occurred to me not to put them on! D'Oh!
@Jessie (The Boyne's) - A place called Excel on Furniture Row in Laguna Hills. EVERYTHING is 25% off right now.

looks really great! i love the style/look that dark wood furniture gives to interior design. and love that 'clueless' was on in your first shot!

Congratulations on the new piece of furniture! It took us 3 years to buy a tv stand finally. We still don't have the flat screen though. We also still have the ghetto looking speakers. Ours are way taller and fugglier with a chrome grate in front!!! The only way I can convince Keith to get rid of them is to bribe him with a new entertainment system. I hope to get rid of them soon. I'm using the Bee Get Together to get my way in every aspect of the home right now kekekeke
